Podium pleaser

Freddie Lee was back on track at Arena Essex this weekend in his Corbeau Luke Sponsored Mini. Freddie entered the fourth round of the Ministox championship with a 23 point lead and a new set up on the car.

With our young driver now a top graded driver and points leader young Freddie had to start at the back of the grid, after a great start and battling his way through the traffic Fred managed to end the first round of the day in 4th position.

Unfortunately the new set up for the car was causing a few issues and this was not easily rectified at the track, so Fred knew his best option for the weekend was to finish in the top five for each race.

In race two with six laps left and running in sixth position, an incident on track bought out the yellow flag bringing the pack together. Fred knew this was his chance and with a great push on the re-start Fred overtook 4 cars and finished the race in 3rd position. Unfortunately Freddie had his place docked and was moved into 4th position in the final standings.

The last race of the day saw our young driver getting into the car with a new frame of mind after a pep talk from his dad and race car engineer. This did the trick and flying Freddie was back and with some outstanding moves and a bit of opposite lock Fred flew past the chequered flag to take 2nd place on the podium.
